Barbies on Broadway

This week's challenge was to create a Broadway Musical look for Barbie. 




The first look was inspired by the musical "Wicked" and was made using a black cotton sock.



The second look, made from leopard print fabric and faux fur, was inspired by the musical "Cats."

Swimsuit Style

This week each designer was asked to design a swimsuit for Barbie.



This asymmetrical one-piece suit was made using purple cotton and silver metal chain.


         

This sexy one-piece suit was made using brown satin ribbon.

Floral Fashion

For this challenge, the designers had to create a look for Barbie inspired by a flower of their choice.  






This yellow and white cotton dress was inspired by the sunflower.






This dress, inspired by the hibiscus, was made using white cotton and pink suede.

Inspired by Insects

For this challenge, each designer was asked to create a look inspired by an insect of their choice.




This spider-inspired look was made using old swimming goggles and synthetic cord (black and silver).


This butterfly-inspired look was made using scraps of colorful synthetic fabric.

The challenge for this week was to choose an airline and design the uniform for its flight attendants.



  

This comfortable Asian-inspired uniform for China Airlines is made out of red non-woven fabric.


  

This Alps-inspired uniform for Swiss Air is made out of red and white cotton fabric.

Punk Fashion

The challenge for this week was to create a punk look for Barbie.


      


The first look was created using black spandex, elastic, and safety pins.

      


The second look was created using scraps of tartan and blue ric-rac trim.





The third look was created using paper, staples, bottle-caps, and silky fabric.
