Inspired at the Met

This week's challenge was to create a look for Barbie inspired by a piece of art from the Asian collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

This multi-textile dress was inspired by a Chinese porcelain figure from the Qing dynasty's Kangxi period (early 18th century).

This porcelain vase from the Southern Song dynasty (12th-13th century) in China served as the inspiration for a cotton corduroy dress.

Paper Fashion

This week's challenge was to create a look for Barbie using paper.

The first look was made by punching holes into colorful pieces of paper and sewing them onto white cotton fabric.

The second look was made using two types of tissue paper (orange and patterned).

Recycled underwear

This week's challenge was to create a look for Barbie using old underwear.

This first look was created using old undies (for the top) and an old bra (for the bottom).

This adjustable-length summer dress and matching sweater were both made out of old tights.
